Local MP John Lamont is encouraging local businesses, their staff, job seekers and school pupils to take advantage of the opportunity to learn from experts from one of the largest digital organisations in the world.
John Lamont MP said: “I am really pleased that the Google Digital Garage bus tour will be taking in the Scottish Borders.
“It is an opportunity for local people and businesses to take advantage of Google’s considerable expertise and gain a better insight on how to grow your business, to learn more about the internet or just to develop new vocational skills.
“Businesses with an active digital presence grow twice as fast as those which don’t, which is why reaching customers online is absolutely vital in this day and age.
“Everything on offer is free, but places are limited for some of the courses, so I’d encourage people to book ahead by emailing me.”
Ronan Harris, Google UK & Ireland Managing Director, said: “In the digital age, a basic understanding of how the online world works is useful and when it comes to business, it’s essential.
“We are delighted to bring the Google Digital Garage bus to Selkirk and ensure everyone has access to free digital skills workshops. We hope you'll pop in and get the skills you need to become more confident online, grow your career or business, and maybe even launch the next big idea.”
