I recently chaired a public meeting in Caddonfoot Village Hall on Saturday, 9 November.
I was pleased to host this productive public meeting so that local people could raise their concerns and seek answers about the Cross Border Connection Project.
Representatives from Scottish Power Energy Networks were in attendance to answer questions about the project.
The proposals would see between 75km and 85km of overhead lines installed from Newcastleton to a substation north of Gala and another around Whitrope.
Many people are concerned about the consequences on our countryside that could arise from the installation of super pylons.
I appreciate the worries of local residents and I will continue to highlight the issues they have with this project.
