I met with councillors and the chairman of the community council, Garry Feldman, over the weekend to discuss the future of the Jedburgh Pool.
The pool has now closed and it is believed it will be handed back to Scottish Borders Council soon.
This meeting was useful as we look for a solution to hopefully allow the pool to reopen.
In the meantime, the council should properly maintain the pool to allow reopening as quickly as possible.
I know the Jedburgh pool well having used it for many months when the Kelso swimming pool was being refurbished. It's very disappointing that this important local resource is shutting, although I understand the situation is complicated. I know it is a well used and valued local resource.
I'll work constructively to find a solution and I hope the pool can reopen as soon as possible so this facility can continue to serve the local community."
