John Lamont MP has encouraged local people to get involved in curling and skating in 2023 after visiting the Border Ice Rink in Kelso.
The Scottish Borders MP said the Kelso centre was a “fantastic day out” and the local curling club was a “brilliant fun activity for people of all ages.”
The rink on Golf Course Road also hosts a skating club and public skating sessions on Sundays.
Scottish Borders MP, John Lamont, said: "The Border Ice Rink is a fantastic day out for people looking to start something new this year.
“The curling team is always on the lookout for new members and there’s skating sessions for people of all levels. I’d encourage anyone who wants to get out of the house this January to give the Border Ice Rink a try.
“The rink in Kelso is a fun activity for people of all ages, especially families looking for something new to keep young children busy and happy."
The president of the Border Ice Rink, Liz Martin, said: "It is a brilliant place to come for curling and skating for all ages. We have curling six days a week, with skating sessions scheduled every Sunday.
“Our curling clubs are always on the lookout for new recruits at all levels. Why not come along to one of our 'try curling' sessions? Check out our Facebook page for dates.”
