Pupils at Yetholm Primary School are using the US Presidential election to learn about campaigning and politics.
Local MSP John Lamont was invited to speak to pupils about what it is like to be an election candidate ahead of their own ‘Mini-Election’.
Speaking after the visit, John Lamont MSP said: “I was very happy to come to Yetholm to speak to pupils about my experience as a candidate ahead of their very own elections.
“The US Presidential election is certainly an interesting one and the pupils were very interested in learning more about it and how to best go about winning votes ahead of their own mini elections.
“As always, I was struck by how much the pupils know about the world around them and I was very impressed with their questions and enthusiasm.”
