The UK Government Budget has delivered a “welcome boost” to the economy.
Approximately £320 million will be delivered to Scotland as a result of the UK Budget decisions from Chancellor Jeremy Hunt.
On Wednesday, he announced the UK ‘Budget for Growth’ will remove obstacles that stop businesses investing, and break down barriers that prevent people from getting back into work.
The UK Budget also set out new measures to support families with the cost of living, including extending the Energy Price Guarantee at current levels for a further three months.
The Chancellor also announced that fuel duty will be frozen for the 13th year in a row.
This UK Budget is a welcome boost for the economy of the Borders, Scotland, and all of our country.
The Chancellor’s strong decisions will reduce inflation, help people into work, and harness Scottish and British ingenuity to increase economic growth.
This Budget demonstrates again that tackling the cost-of-living crisis and strengthening our economy are the UK Government’s top priorities.
The next SNP leader and First Minister must match this commitment to focus fully on what really matters.
