I’m launching a competition to celebrate the best Borders pubs that bring people together and play a vital role as the beating heart of their local community.
It’s important that we recognise and support great local pubs because they are valuable businesses that play a vital role as employers in our local economy.
The Covid pandemic and global energy price rises have made it a difficult few years for hospitality businesses.
I am confident the future for local pubs will be much more positive as our economy grows from strength to strength.
These awards will raise a glass to the best-loved pubs across the Borders that deserve to be toasted for what they bring to our communities.
Nominations are open for one month, until Friday, 6 October.

Winners will be chosen based on the number of votes received from members of the public.
