Berwickshire High School pupils toured the Houses of Parliament with Scottish Borders MP John Lamont last week.
The group of 22 pupils from fourth, fifth and sixth year at the school went on a day trip to London to see the Houses of Parliament and take part in a Q&A session with John Lamont MP.
The group had an early start, catching the 7am train to London from Berwick upon Tweed.
They were shown around the buildings by the Parliament’s Education Team, who conduct tours for schools and community organisations.
The informative and unique tours take in the House of Commons, the House of Lords, and the history of the grounds at the Houses of Parliament.
Scottish Borders MP, John Lamont, said: “It was a joy to meet these students and answer their keen questions.
“The pupils were very engaged and interested in how the Houses of Parliament conduct business and what action elected representatives can take on behalf of their constituents. I particularly enjoyed watching their mock debate.
“If you are involved in a school group or community organisation that would benefit from a tour at the Houses of Parliament, please do get in touch and I will be happy to help arrange it. There are generous support packages available to help with the travel costs for school groups.”
