Visiting brilliant local employers is one of the best parts of being the Scottish Borders MP.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting one of those thriving enterprises when I popped in to see the team at Abbey Tool and Gauge in Kelso.
Established in 1970 by their father Graham Reid, Abbey Tool is now managed by sons Iain and Alistair.
During the visit, I saw how local workers efficiently produce key machinery components for a wide range of applications.
In challenging times, the business keeps growing and employing skilled local workers.
The Abbey Tool team are continuing to invest in innovative robotics and the training needed to operate such machines.
It's these kinds of great job opportunities that I hope to see more of in the Scottish Borders.
If you would like me to visit your business to discuss how we can create more jobs here in the Borders, please get in touch.
