The Labour government is betraying the people of the Borders by putting a feasibility study for the Borders Railway extension on hold.
The extension could unlock economic potential, create thousands of jobs and transform the local rail network.
At the very least, it is worth progressing the feasibility study so we can establish the most effective and efficient way to proceed.
Labour are demonstrating that they simply don't care about the Borders, but I will continue to campaign relentlessly for the rail extension to go ahead.
