I was delighted to recently welcome the UK Minister of State for Veterans' Affairs to the Borders to meet with former Armed Forces personnel.
The Rt Hon Johnny Mercer MP visited Three Hills Coffee, owned by former soldier Richard Keeling and his partner Jessica Jericevich.
We also visited R&L Taxis owned by Bruce Mercer who served in the King’s Own Scottish Borderers.
We also spent time with local veterans and their families from across the Borders.
UK Minister of State for Veterans' Affairs, Johnny Mercer MP, said: “It was a pleasure to visit the Scottish Borders and hear the inspirational stories of people who have served our country.
“To see Richard and Bruce thriving in business while also giving back to veterans in the local community is amazing.
“We have made great progress to deliver better support for our veterans and I will keep going until we make the entire UK the best place in the world to be a veteran.”
