John Lamont and Rachael Hamilton have launched their annual Christmas card competition for school aged children across their Borders constituencies.
The competition asks young people to design a Christmas card using their art skills.
The pair have written to schools across the area, and are encouraging others to take part too, such as those who are home schooled.
The winning design will be on the front of the Christmas card sent out by Rachael and John to around 4000 households.
Due to the generosity of local businesses, there will also be prizes for the winner and runners up.
Entries should be submitted on an A4 page with the name, age and contact details written clearly on the back and sent to the address above to arrive no later than Friday 19th November.
John Lamont MP said:
“One of the most rewarding parts of my job is seeing all the fantastic artworks sent in for our annual Christmas card competition.
“We were not able to hold it last year due to Covid-19 but are delighted to have it open again this year.
“I want to see kids across the area getting their pens, pencils and paint pots out to show what their ideal Christmas card would look like.
“I know that many people like seeing the fantastic artwork on show from local young people in our annual Christmas card.”
Rachael Hamilton MSP, added:
“It’s time to get creative!
“Our Christmas card competition is back after a break because of the pandemic.
“I am looking forward to seeing the entries, everyone’s a winner for taking part, but we are looking forward to choosing a couple of eye-catching entries that stand out.
“Please send us your best Christmas card design; there are great prizes up for grabs!”
