The new Hike and Bike Hub in Galashiels is doing fantastic work to promote active travel across the Scottish Borders.
The hub on Channel Street in Galashiels is a great addition to the local community, offering information about local walking and cycling routes as well as providing affordable bike hire, bike servicing, led cycle rides and guided walks.
The Scottish Borders has amazing routes for walking and cycling and the team at the hub are doing a great job to promote these locally and further afield.
Well done to everyone involved in the project, I look forward to seeing more people enjoying the beautiful Scottish Borders countryside as a result.
Angela Crow from the Hub said:
"Since our grand opening in February we have been overwhelmed by the support from the local community. Special thanks to the volunteers who help cover the hub and help with the walks and cycle rides
“It has been a pleasure to have so many people join us on our guided walks, led cycles, participate in our bike maintenance sessions or just pop by the hub for a chat.
“With this support and the generous funding from Firstport, Cycling Scotland and Scottish Borders Council’s Neighbourhood Support Fund the hub has got off to a great start. We very much look forward to welcoming more of you to the hub soon.
“Keep an eye on our Facebook page for all upcoming events.”
